Installed Windows 7 Home Basic on netbook

I installed Windows 7 on my Dell mini 10. Was bored of Windows XP coz quite a few drivers were crapping and it was evident that Windows XP days are gone and Windows 7 is the future. Though the netbook is seriously under powered and does not have a Optical drive, I installed Windows 7 Home Basic 32 bit. The config of the netbook is an Intel Atom 1.6GHz, 1 GB RAM and 320 GB HDD.

The times it took to install are as follows:
Copying Started: 8:28:45
Finished Copying: 8:36:11
Completing Installing: 8:41:43
Setup is preparing your computer for first use: 8:42:45
Computer name: 8:45:00
Desktop: 8:48:50

Pretty decent figure I must say for a netbook.

Galaxy S2

It has been 2 months now since I got this phone. Previously I was using the Galaxy Spica, and after using that for almost a year I got the feeling to upgrade to something better. While I was thinking of going on to something better I also wanted to get something that will not hang no matter what I throw at it. Hence the S2. This phone sports a Dual core 1GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and a 4.3 inch screen. The Super AMOLED Plus screen is a cherry on the cake. One needs to get used to the phone size at first.

Problems…… other phones seem puny

Mac OSX

So I installed Mac OSX on VMWare. Not that I was proving anything but just for the heck of it. Anyways here is a screenshot and yes you can isntall it too.. just make sure you get the right Mac OSX iso. I was stuck the first time coz of a improper DVD so you take care.

Swype

I got to know from a friend of mine that Swype for android was awesome. Well here is my first post using Swype. I’m not that fast at it right now, but maybe once I have some practice I will get better at this. Try it out if to you have an android phone.

Samsung Galaxy Spica

Well I have this phone since a month now. And after a horrifying experience from the Samsung service centre now the phone is on Eclair 2.1 update 1. Its performing pretty nicely. I’m still getting used to it slowly. For 12.5k its a pretty decent phone I must say.

Search Everything

Well I had been using AvaFind. But since I formatted Vista and installed Windows 7 I thought of using the default built in Search system. But sadly enough I wasnt satisfied so I installed Search Everything. Well its free it does its biz pretty smartly and efficiently and it allows you to configure the hot key to whatever u want. So head to voidtools and install it right away.

Realtek Audio and Windows 7

If you are one of the people who are using Windows 7 with a motherboard which has a Realtek Audio chip, then you might’ve experienced a very very low level of full volume. As I thought it was a driver problem. Now Realtek has come out with an updated driver which solves this problem. Grab it here

Tweetie 2.0

I have been using Tweetie to tweet since quite sometime now. I love its interface and I do not need to wait for the user pages to load and stuff. In short am hooked on Anyway I had been using Tweet 1.3.2 all this time. So I just updated to Tweetie 2.0 and its got some updates that I wanted. Not that it was something that I was missing but what the hell I love it. Also they have tweaked the interface a little bit so all in all its awesome. Let me see if I can find anything wrong with this.
